Oil or Acrylic Palette Knife Painting
Friday - Sunday, July 27 - 29, 2012
9:30am - 3:30pm
Cost:  $350

Ever felt like your work was getting drab and lifeless?
Need to get out of the drudgery or painting funk you are in?
This workshop will definitely get you OUT OF THE BOX.

Painting with a palette knife offers a unique way to add in both varying
textures and colorful layers of paint rich in pigment and color while still
expressing a rare energy. Providing the artist with a rare freedom to
creates dramatic works of art in a way that few other painting techniques
can hope to match.

A Few Benefits:
"Adding physical dimension and impasto texture - or sculpted paint
"Keeps you working on big picture verses niggling needless details
"Painting knives do not wear out like brushes and easy clean up
"Help to mix and lay more accurate vivid colors
"Facilitate a better use of color and shape
"Dramatizes soft and crisp hard edges
Oil and Acrylic Paints are preferred; demonstrations will be in oil paint.

All Levels Welcome and Encouraged.

If you want to simplify your approach and add form and substance to painting this workshop is for you!

ARTIST STATEMENT
Although my portraits capture the likeness of the person or pet I'm painting, I don't attempt to create portraits that look like photographs. Instead, I let the personality and characteristics of the subject I'm painting guide my decisions. I bring my own style and ideas to the paper using color, brushstroke and composition to create mood and emotion. My greatest reward is to complete a portrait that captures not only the likeness of the person or animal, but more importantly, their unique personality.
